Toyota will hold biggest recall in 16 years

According to nbcnews.com, the recall involves 7.43 million vehicles worldwide sold under the Toyota and Scion brands. This will be the largest safety-related action Toyota has announced since 2009, when it started a series of recalls due to the risk of unintended acceleration. That recall led Toyota to recall 14 million vehicles. This will be the biggest single recall since the Ford Motor Co was forced to recall 7.9 million vehicles in 1996. This recall is due in part to a defective power window switch on the drivers side that may experience a sticky feel when being operated. When lubricants are applied, melting of the assembly or smoke could occur and may even lead to fire.
